“Ars Poetica”

A Musical

A play must have music to commute
Songs at the root,

Thrum
I hear the sound impact of the drum,

Bright lights make the actors known
The curtain opens I turn off my phone

A play must have a process
Songs play with the words.

                                           *

A play must have actors during showtime
Songs from past times,

Singing, dancing joyful pieces
Scene by scene all in great expertise,

Singing, full of emotion the crowd believes,
Character and character defined

A play must have diverse backdrops behind
That shifts sometimes.

                                           *

A play must have a hold on you:
That grew.

The audience left in belief
All loose ends are tied and full of relief.

In love
The curtains close on the stage and crowds cheer with glee

A play must be pristine
To see.

Strange Dreams

Dreams what do they mean?
Obscure in every scene
Unknown things are seen
Events only seen on screen
Unfolds

Why a flying cantaloupe?
If conscious I would say Nope
A dove drips black I have lost hope
Fun Dip rain must be my way to cope
Awesome

Where do the plants become alive?
Spider-Man gave me a high five
The chaos is making it hard to survive
A cheese slide where people drive
Discord

How do I escape this nightmare?
There is no way out I swear
Exhausted looking for a way out I sat there
A bright light appears someone heard my prayer
Freedom

Love Potion #9

Note for love

When we are apart, I can’t sleep at night
I remember the first time met you
You were carried by a heard of men
I blushed the moment I saw you

From there-on, we spent every night together
We would cuddle each other for hours
Your warm hugs filled me with a joy I’ve never known
your smooth body against mine

You were always there for me during my times of strife
I’m sorry I couldn’t bring you with me
Being unable to visit you was torture
My dreams turned into nightmares

When I returned home I was ready with open arms
I ran to my room expecting you to be there
Then my mother gave me the terrible news
She told me you were killed by accident
Everyday I sit and watch the place where you once stood

Goodbye, my love.

“Start from Language” Draft

Realm

She seems cool. She
Resides in school. Me

Told to wait. Me
Fight with hate. He

Forgot his sin. He
A blot in the gym. She

Awakes soon. She
Walks out at noon.

Free Poem #2

Tea

Mouth dry feeling faint I look around the house
Sick of drinking water I think of something else
Water and lemonade once a perfect drink
I’ve grown tired of this taste

Ordering a new beverage that will hopefully suffice
Hours pass Lightheaded I lay down on the couch
A headache and nausea I really need a drink
One knock I answer the door

Opening the bag I see five flavors of tea
Unscrewing the bottle I start to drink the drink
One second passed the liquid now consumed
I favored this new drink

“Three Observations” Draft

Turnpike

Clouds streaking down the sky
Fascinating and unusual
Blurry lines to the West
Normal clouds to the North
It looked like a portal to another world
Gone

Traffic and honking in large supply
Confused and curious
Green ramp looked standard
Flat bridge strange support
underneath the curved attachment
Passed

Smooth driving we soared by
Large boat flipped on side
Blue destroyed now trash
Red trucks by its crash
Conversation did ensue
You saw the accident didn’t you?
Silence

“A Burning Question” Draft

Is it light pollution?

Why is the sky in Florida lighter at night?
Do other cities experience this?
Is it light pollution?

What causes the color to change?
Why an orange or blue tint?
Is it a chemical solution?

Can Light pollution change color?
Why does the color disappear on other nights?
Is there a pattern?

Where do I find these answers?
Why are there no results?
Is this for nothing?

What causes my curiosity to thrive?
Why do I watch the sky?
Is this worth it?

“I am Clueless” Draft

Robotics

Heavy, distant and dangerous materials
Robots helped humans in these ordeals

Shakey named, intelligence gained
Speed obtained, motors remained

Accuracy embedded sensors received
Silver Arm assembled joints we did need

Society complains AI’s to blame
Look back a bit there’s no shame

Without it, we’d go insane
Rejoice in its fame

“Epiphany” Draft

The Retreat

My phone in hand, the clock turned to four
I was still tired from the night before
I texted my friends I will arrive
The gear shifted from park to
Drive

Sitting in the car my thoughts and suspicions began to unfold
We were close to my school in Hollywood
Texting my friends the amount of time left
We had finally stopped at our destination
Cold

I left the car to say goodbye and went on a large school bus
My friend and I listened to music to block others fuss
We Naruto ran into the tipi of seniors to get our bag check
All electronics taken away the retreat we are banned to
Discuss

At the end we all cried like we needed each other to survive
Recieving the phone in the end I had felt alive

I use the phone for music only a pencil is all I need
I limit my use of technology which helps me
Thrive

Pantoum

Bad Mood

Waking from my slumber
I feel super cranky
The dogs barking
I walk through the bustling household

I feel super cranky
My anxiety running wild
I walk through the bustling household
Sitting in my place on the couch

My anxiety running wild
I continue my leftover work on my laptop
Sitting in my place on the couch
Hours pass as I panic from various assignments

I continue my leftover work on my laptop
Dark thoughts consume my mind
Failure, stupid, worthless my thoughts call me
They always prevail, leaving me in a depressed state

Dark thoughts consume my mind
Starting assignments, never finishing my thoughts torment me
They always prevail, leaving me in a depressed state
My brain is like a dam with a significant leak

Starting assignments, never finishing my thoughts torment me
Every grade fills me with dread, wanting the days to end
My brain is like a dam with a significant leak
My excuse is well known, “not today I’m in a bad mood.”
